Leather recognition and traceability system
GER Elettronica systems designed for measurement during the sammying phase make it possible to collect data such as choice, size, thickness and weight, in order to guarantee the constant quality of the finished product and the production process.
The sammying of hides and skins is the processing phase immediately following the tanning one: it consists of applying strong pressure on wet hides to remove excess water from the fibers, making them compress and adhere to each other.
The sammying machines for leather, typically hydraulic or pneumatic presses, can work up to 80 tons: the sammying operation is crucial as it allows hides and skins to be adequately prepared for the subsequent stages inside the tannery.
Sammying helps to give a smooth and uniform surface to the treated leather, eliminating any creases or imperfections and creating a solid and compact fibrous structure, ideal for the success of a high quality product.
GER Elettronica machinery for leather sammying makes it possible to measure wet blue – wet white hides being processed on the pressing machines, detecting their parameters in a reliable and precise way to improve tannery production.
